L´Ampolla is in a region called the Costa Dorada. The nearest airport is Barcelona Reus. Until recently Reus used to be a small military and private airfield. Then flight operators like Ryanair moved in. The airport is still small but its getting bigger as Ryanair’s flight costs get lower.
Barcelona International Airport, one of Spain’s busiest airports, is only 80 km North of Reus. Whilst most European countries are served by Reus, the United States and some Eastern European countries have links only to Barcelona. Hiring a car at Reus is very simple. As soon as you come out of baggage reclaim the car hire kiosks are right in front of you. In my experience I have always found Eurocar to be very good – and the last time I was there, and found them fully booked, Avis served me very well too.
